When we came home from Battle of the Books, Caden immediately went upstairs and put on this get-up. I'm not sure why but it was pretty funny when he came down singing, "I'm a pretty girl! I'm a pretty girl!"
"Sometimes for a season, all we can expect from ourselves is to sit on the floor and breathe... But then after a week or a month or a year or three, after we have caught our breath, we must do the work of remembering that our issues are not the same thing as our identity. We must emerge." - Leeanna Tankersley

"Happiness is the consequence of personal effort. You fight for it, strive for it, insist upon it, and...[look] for it. You have to participate relentlessly in the manifestations of your own blessings. And once you have achieved a state of happiness, you must never become lax about maintaining it, you must make a mighty effort to keep swimming upward into that happiness...to stay afloat on top of it." - Elizabeth Gilbert
As the years elapsed,
her pain became her happiness,
her suffering her strength and her scars her wisdom.
Her passion became incorrigible
and she burned for so much more than to merely subsist.
The echoing silence that once screamed her name
now beckoned her stay as she began to crave existence
and yearn for nothing less than the remarkable.
She was reborn - brutally and unapologetically.
And she no longer had need of a hero, for she had become
her own savior in the creases of her mind-
a heroine in her own right.
-Becca Lee
“Yes, God loves you this very day and always. He is not waiting to love you until you have overcome your weaknesses and bad habits. He loves you today with a full understanding of your struggles...God knows of your successes; though they may seem small to you, He acknowledges and cherishes each one of them…He knows everything about you. He sees you clearly—He knows you as you really are. And He loves you—today and always!” – President Dieter F. Uchtdorf
