As the years elapsed,
her pain became her happiness,
her suffering her strength and her scars her wisdom.
Her passion became incorrigible
and she burned for so much more than to merely subsist.
The echoing silence that once screamed her name
now beckoned her stay as she began to crave existence
and yearn for nothing less than the remarkable.
She was reborn - brutally and unapologetically.
And she no longer had need of a hero, for she had become
her own savior in the creases of her mind-
a heroine in her own right.
